「いつか生まれる君に」

5月後半、カリフォルニアからの33名のお客様を南房総～東京～北日本にご案内しました。途中立ち寄った石巻市は震災から4年、まだまだ復興半ばの様子でした。石巻市役所に立ち寄り義援金の寄付を行った際、復興支援の想いをこめて、みんなでこっそり練習していた「花は咲く」を日本語で歌いました。市役所職員のみなさんは、突然やってきたアメリカ人歌う日本語の歌に驚き、とても感動した、と言ってくださいました！歌の力は偉大です。今回ご紹介するのは、Il Divoという英国の男性コーラスグループによる英語バージョン。日本語でも英語でも、みんなで歌ってこれからも被災地を応援していきましょう！

「いつか、虹の向こうに」

ミュージカル「オズの魔法使い」の挿入歌。世界中のアーティストにカバーされている名曲ですね。歌詞はシンプルで、中盤まではthatまたはwhereの関係代名詞が多用されています。There’s a land （国があるの）that（どんな国かっていうと）I heard of once in a lullaby（子守唄で聞いたことのある）。and wake up （目がさめるの）where（どこかっていうと）the clouds are far behind me（雲ははるか彼方）。虹には不思議な魅力がありますね。雨上がりに見られるとウキウキします。虹の向こうには、みな、夢があるようです。
