Did you know?

First whale skeleton assembled for public display in the region was at Point Lobos over 100 years ago.
この地域で、最初に組み立てられ、公開されたクジラの骨の標本は、100年以上前にポイントロボスにあったのです。

In 1898, a dead Finback whale drifted ashore at Point Lobos.

The Point’s owner, A.M. Allan with the assistance of the Japanese abalone diving crew cut it up and buried it in a nearby meadow.

Several years later, they dug up the now clean bones and reassembled it alongside one of the hiking trails at the Point.
